Curriculum

Newton British School offers tuition from Preschool to Year 6 following the National Curriculum of England and Wales. All planning follows the British Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. We are accredited with the University of Cambridge and are currently working towards AdvancEd accreditation. We offer an emphasis on English, Mathematics and Science as well as lessons in ICT, French/Arabic, Music, Design Technology and PE. Islamic Studies is also offered in either Arabic or English.


Our Pre-school and Reception classes follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Profile which came into force in the UK in September 2008. It is the framework for the provision of learning, development and care for children between birth and the academic year in which they turn five (0-5 years).


School facilities include a Library, ICT room, a large Gymnasium, Music room as well as a swimming pool (swimming is included as part of the PE curriculum). There are also interactive whiteboards in each of the classrooms.


Newton British School offers a secure, caring and stimulating learning environment with appropriately qualified teachers familiar with the British curriculum and experienced in an international educational setting.


All year groups have detailed medium term plans in place and detailed weekly plans are completed by class teachers on a weekly basis.

  • EYFS consists of Pre-school and Reception
  • Key Stage One consists of Years 1 and 2
  • Key Stage Two consists of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
