SKIING TRIP 2011

Twenty eight Secondary students participated in the skiing trip at the end of March and beginning of April 2011 in La Plagne in France. Besides skiing the students took part in other activities such as Olympic bob sleigh, cable car trip to the summit of the glacier (3150m above the sea), large cable car trip to another village, two shopping trips, and team building exercises notably bowling, quiz, English language game, a video analysis of their skiing performance. The behaviour of all students throughout the trip was excellent and the fact that they represented NIS very well was highlighted by the staff of the hotel who complimented their politeness and manners at the end of our stay.

 

We all were very proud of our students not only because they all successfully learnt how to ski and experienced a high level of outdoor exercise but also because they coped with the pressure of being away from home and sharing room with others. They learnt a lot about themselves and others and became much more independent and confident members of the NIS community realizing that it is important to help and look after others, tidy up after yourself and work hard if you want to achieve something.
